The wheel of colour...

I very rarely make projects from books but I thought that the Colour wheel quilt from Joelle Hoverson's Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts is just too lovely to miss. 

 

This project is simple and quick to make and is a fabulous way to showcase favourite fabrics.  I spent a  really fun couple of hours choosing and arranging (and then rearranging!!) the colours to create the right balance of colour and tone.

I am always torn when choosing photos... straight forward ones just showing the whole quilt or more abstract arty still lives?!

The quilt in the book finishes at this point but I am planning to add a border. I think a rainbow string zigzag will add a little more impact.
